Screenshot and Video Contest

Paizo Jim
Greetings, Pathfinders!

We've added a lot of new stuff to Pathfinder Online over the last year, and it's high time we showed some of it off. That's where you come in! Some general guidelines:

1.) User Interface: Remove the UI by creating a Keybind for /togglegui. If you don't create a keybind, you'll need to restart PFO to get your user interface to return.
2.) Solo vs. Group: Show multiple characters if possible. That's not to say you can't do this solo (a good screenshot is a good screenshot), but we would like to have a mix.
3.) Particle Science: Avoid taking screens where particle/spell effects are overwhelming. As we say in wizard school, a little magic goes a long way (but always fireball to be sure!).
4.) Watermarks: Please don't add any watermarks or other logos to the screens or video.

Screenshots: We're looking to capture interesting locations and combats. If it looks good, shoot it!

Video: Maximum length should be 90 seconds; lots of shorter videos are fine. We'll probably use some of them to fill out the video cover on the Facebook page. For video capture, lots of people use FRAPS, but feel free to use whatever you're comfortable with.

Rewards: What? You expect to be rewarded for your efforts??! What is this, a player-driven economy or something? Oh…

We'll be providing rewards in Azoth to the best screenshots and videos. Depending on how many submissions we get, we'll offer Gold, Silver, and Bronze prize packs consisting of 3/6/12 boxes.

Where to Submit: Please add your screenshots/videos to your favorite Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, or similar sharing service and submit a reply to this thread so we know you've got a submission.

Good luck, Pathfinders!
Bob
And for those needing instructions for changing your keybinds, here's Cole's original post about it from the Paizo forums:

So there's no UI, yet, for changing keybinds, but there is an ini file + commands way of doing things.

The commands are ExportKeybinds and ImportKeybinds.

ExportKeybinds takes an optional path. If you don't supply one, your keybinds will go into the Keybinds folder in your installed PFO (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Pathfinder Online\Pathfinder_Data\Keybinds). If you do supply a path ("ExportKeybinds C:/go/here/please/arglebargle.ini"smile, then it'll put your keybinds there.

Let's assume you just typed "/ExportKeybinds", cuz calling your keybinds arglebargle is weird.

You now have a file called "player_settings.ini". It is in your Pathfinder Online\Pathfinder_Data\Keybinds directory with 2 other files: default.player_settings.ini and default-dvorak.player_settings.ini.

Open up your player_settings.ini lovingly with you most prized text editor.

Gaze in wonder at your keybinds.

You may now edit your keybinds. Notice how they have been laid out in a format thusly:

key = command

I have tried to be very understanding in what is an acceptable name for a key. Generally just typing the key works. If you want to use the keypad keys, you have to say so. "1" is the key above Q and Tab. "alpha1" is that same key. "keypad1" is way over on the far side of the keyboard.

So, if you wanted ESDF for movement instead of WASD, you would take this:

w = forward
s = back
a = turnleft
d = turnright
q = strafeleft
e = straferight

And turn it into this:

e = forward
d = back
s = turnleft
f = turnright
w = strafeleft
r = straferight

And then, when you have finished editing your keybinds, save your file and thank your beloved text editor for the fine job it did.

Journey forthwith back to PFO, and type this into your chat input:

/ImportKeybinds

(Note: If you were weird and put your keybinds somewhere else, you can "/ImportKeybinds C:/somewhere/else/player_settings.ini". However, I have a command args processing bug that doesn't take kindly to spaces in your file path, currently. >.>smile

I like the idea of luring a few peeps in with cool videos, but Bob's post above is exactly why PFO is nowhere near ready for Mainstream or ToTs.
Regalo Harnoncourt, Leader of the River Kingdoms Trading Company, High Council of Callambea.
This is the character that I am playing almost 100% of the time. (Tyncale is my Sage/Mage)

I've never shared pictures using dropbox before but I will give this a shot. Please let me know if the links don't work…

These are some fun pictures I have gathered over the years though I am not necessarily trying for contest quality I thought I would give them a share:

Totally off topic, but I had never realised before this thread you could create and save custom key-bind files for each of your different characters and then import the relevant keybind once you load the character. The things you learn smile
